Sometimes a week of vacation can change the course of a life. While driving in Maryland during a family vacation in the fall of 2000, the Moore family began to dream about an organization and a website with resources for Christian girls and their parents. Daughters 4 God was launched in March, 2006.
Professionally, Harold spent seven years in retail merchandising with JC Penney. He spent the next nearly ten years in marketing for CBN Radio and The Family Channel. In 1997, God called Harold into full-time ministry. After serving as the administrator for Harvest Assembly since 2003 Harold was recently named Associate Pastor of the Chesapeake, Virginia church. He is on the board of directors for Heart of Compassion Partnerships, a partnership of churches in the Hampton Roads area. He is also on the board of directors for Open Doors, Inc., an organization helping individuals transition to life after incarceration. Harold holds a B.S. in Business from Evangel College and a M.A. in Communications from Regent University.
For more than twenty years, Joy has been actively involved in mentoring girls and women through her roles of camp counsellor, public school teacher, teacher of the hearing impaired, children’s choir director, Sunday school teacher, children’s ministry director and small group leader. Since October of 2005, Joy has been privileged to act as coordinator and speaker for a women’s retreat and a mother/daughter retreat, as well as speaker at several other women’s events. She was also honored in 2006 to give the sermon for Mother’s Day at her home church.
